The Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus is celebrated on April 2.
25 years ago, on April 2 of 1996, Boris Yeltsin and Alexander Lukashenko, the Presidents of Russia and Belarus, signed the Treaty "On the Formation of the Community of Russia and Belarus" in Moscow. A year later, on April 2, 1997, the Treaty "On the Union of Belarus and Russia" was signed, which gave a new impetus to the process of comprehensive integration of the two states. On May 23, 1997, the Charter of the Union of Belarus and Russia was adopted, and on December 25, 1998, the Presidents of Russia and Belarus signed the Declaration "On the Further Unity of Russia and Belarus".
Relations of the Republic of Bashkortostan with the Republic of Belarus:
On July 6 of 1999, the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Belarus signed an Agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation. In September 2020, an updated document was signed during the Seventh Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia. It was the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russian Federation) and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and socio-cultural cooperation.
Since 2016, there has been a working group on the development of cooperation between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Belarus.
Since 2001, a branch of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation has been operating in Ufa.
