TASS has released an album «We stand by our own» about the return of Russians home during the pandemic
The TASS news agency has released a book-album «We stand by our own».
The circulation of the publication amounted to 2000 copies. It tells about the work of the Russian diplomatic corps on the return to their homeland of citizens who find themselves in a difficult life situation abroad.
The 224 pages of the book contain the stories of the return of Russians from 53 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America.
The hard, almost round-the-clock work of Russian diplomats allowed residents of many regions of Russia, including our fellow countrymen, to return home.
Due to the restrictions imposed due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus infection and the closure of the state borders of the Russian Federation with foreign countries in March 2020, residents of the Republic of Bashkortostan who are on trips (civil, business, tourist) were not able to return to their homeland.
From March to August 2020 State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for External Economic Relations, in collaboration with the Foreign Ministry and its diplomatic missions continuously assisted the residents of the Republic of Bashkortostan abroad (India, Thailand, Austria, UK, UAE, Canada, Germany, Italy, Cyprus, Korea, Maldives, USA, Western and Eastern Europe, Latin and Central America, CIS, and others) and caught in a difficult situation due to financial difficulties, health, difficulties in obtaining travel documents, insurance, etc., in returning to the homeland.
The review of a resident of Sterlitamak, A. Aidarov, which was published in the book, illustrates the impact with which the Russian diplomatic mission in Buenos Aires helped Russian citizens fly home from Argentina.
«I was in Argentina, in Buenos Aires when the borders were closed. I was there as part of an expedition of the Russian Geographical Society. There was a return ticket for March 26, but this flight was canceled. Through the RGS, I contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and then we directly communicated with them and acted on the scheme they proposed. There were more than 200 of us in Argentina. We've been waiting for this flight for three months. At the same time, the staff of the consular department of the Embassy was always in touch with us, they answered all questions, even brought material assistance, assisted with housing. Georgy Pavlovich Polin helped to get to the airport. It was full cooperation and assistance. I would put 11 on a scale of 10 points».
The head of the territorial authority, the Representative of the MFA of Russia in Ufa V. M. Galiakbarova by the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan on International Relations and Congress activities directed a special copy of the book, which will soon be officially handed over to the Akhmet-Zaki Validi National library, where readers will be able to see it.
